WePanel FAQ

WePanel FAQ #

WePanel is the glass panel engine of the WeSim cockpit system. Check this page first for usage issues; for basic operations see the WePanel User Manual.

Panel window is blank or black after mirroring #

  • Make sure DirectX 12 is enabled in MSFS 2020/2024 (DirectX 11 mode is not supported by WePanel capture)
  • The aircraft hasn’t fully loaded: wait a few seconds after entering the cockpit
  • Popped out immediately after switching aircraft: WePanel is rebuilding panel data — wait for the message to disappear and retry
  • Still black after all the above: restart WeSim and try again; if the issue persists, check the status bar message and contact support

“Panel data not ready, please retry later” #

Panels are still loading — this is normal. Wait a few seconds and retry; if it doesn’t recover after a long time, re-enter the cockpit (or reload the aircraft) and retry.

“No instrument panels detected (aircraft loading or not in cockpit)” #

WePanel found no panels to mirror. Common causes:

  • Not in the cockpit yet (still in the menu/loading screen)
  • The aircraft doesn’t support panel capture (a few third-party aircraft don’t expose their rendering interface)
  • The aircraft was changed mid-flight

Enter the cockpit, wait for panels to appear, then retry.

“Port conflict, please restart your PC” #

A system resource issue prevented the WePanel service from starting. Restart the PC to recover.

After switching aircraft, old panels remain / images scrambled #

After switching aircraft, WePanel automatically invalidates old panel data and rebuilds. If you see leftover old images:

  • Close all panel windows (Close All button) and pop them out again
  • If it still misbehaves, restart WeSim

Touch doesn’t respond on the touchscreen #

  • Make sure it’s a mirrored window (not a regular pop-up window)
  • Make sure the mirrored window is on the touchscreen
  • A few special instruments (WASM-based third-party panels) do not accept external touch commands for security reasons — use a mouse or physical keys for those panels

Do A320 MCDU / B737 CDU support touch? #

MCDU / CDU are standalone hardware devices using a dedicated data-driven solution: WeSim reads data from the simulator and sends it to the device over a USB cable, and the device firmware renders the display — no screen mirroring and no touchscreen needed. The physical keys on the device are the most authentic way to operate them.

Can’t view the LAN shared screen #

  • Make sure the viewing device and the PC are on the same LAN
  • Make sure the address format is correct: http://<PC-IP>:18998 (e.g. http://192.168.1.100:18998; the port is fixed at 18998)
  • Find the PC’s IP in Windows network settings; company/guest networks may isolate devices — try a home network or a phone hotspot

Panel window can’t be dragged / wrong position #

Panel windows support free dragging and resizing. If a window is mispositioned, edit the left/top/width/height values in the panel list on the Popout Panel page and pop it out again.

Panel windows didn’t close when quitting the simulator #

WeSim closes all panel windows automatically when it exits. If a window is left over, close it manually — it won’t affect next use.

More questions #

  • When contacting support, please include: simulator version, aircraft model, and the status bar message
  • Logs: runtime logs in the WeSim installation directory (support will guide you through providing them when troubleshooting)
